UN- simplified reporting to ICCPR and ICESCR - Finland 2019

16.10.2018

According to the simplified reporting procedure the NGOs etc are to send information to the UN committees in late 2018.

Finland has accepted the new simplified reporting procedure with regard to the CAT, ICCPR and ICESCR.

In the simplified procedure government's report is a reply to the List of Issues prior to reporting (LOIPR), prepared by the relevant committees. Other themes can later be taken up in the hearing of the Govenmernt delegation.

The LOIPR with regard to Finland is decided in the relevant committes

  • ICCPR - in the session starting 4 March 2019
  • ICESCR - in the session starting 11 March 2019

Observations and documentation on the possible themes to be listed must be submitted to the committees latest 8-10 weeks before the beginning of the sessions.

In practice this means that if you wish to influence the LOIPR, you must send your comments to the Committees before the end of 2018.

You can also participate at a later stage throughout the cycle.

The deadline for Finland's report (reply to the LOIPR) is in March 2020 for both of the Conventions.
