NAME OF REGISTER

Subscriber register for the Human Rights Centre’s newsletter


PURPOSE OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA

The purpose of the register is to make it possible for the Human Rights Centre to send its electronic newsletter.

The data subjects listed in the register can be sent email containing information on current topics, events products and services of the Human Rights Centre and its partners at reasonable intervals.


REGISTER DATA CONTENT

The register contains e-mail addresses of those persons who have signed up for the Human Rights Centre’s newsletter via the subscription link on the Human Rights Centre’s website. If the person in question has supplemented his or her data in the MailChimp programme when signing up, the register may also contain their first and last name.

The person can remove their data from the newsletter register at any time via the link provided in the newsletter.


STANDARD SOURCES OF INFORMATION

The individual gives their information when subscribing to the newsletter.


STANDARD DISCLOSURE OF DATA AND TRANSFER OF DATA TO AREAS OUTISDE THE EU OR THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA

The register’s data will not be disclosed to third parties. The data controller will use the services of external service providers, which means the information supplied by the subscriber will be stored on the servers of service providers also outside the EU, when the MailChimp system is used, as its servers are located in the United States.

By subscribing to the newsletter, subscribers are giving their express permission for the retention and processing of their data outside the EU. No sensitive information on subscribers will be retained and no separate passwords or sign-in details are needed.


RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

Right of inspection and correction

The data subject has the right to inspect the data that concerns him or her and has been saved in the register. For this reason, there is a link titled “omat tiedot” via which the recipient can view all the information that is stored into the system.

Right to prohibit

The data subject has the right to prohibit the data controller from processing data that applies to the data subject and to be removed from the list. For this reason, there is a link at the end of every e-mail titled ”en halua jatkossa saada viestintäänne” (I no longer want to receive your messages) via which the recipient can remove their e-mail address from the register.


PRINCIPLES OF REGISTER PROTECTION

The processing of information is carried out electronically in the service provider’s system. The principles for the protection of this system can be viewed athttp://mailchimp.com/legal/.

Only persons whose work duties are directly related to e-mail communication and who have the right to process the Human Rights Centre’s customer data have access to the address system. Data is not disclosed to other parties or partners. Data is not stored in manual format.
